“Unbelievable!!!”

We just got back from a trip to South Africa and we cannot say enough about Sanbona. If you are looking for a safari in South Africa this is the one to choose. Every detail is well thought out and planned. Our comfort was always at the forefront and everything was done to perfection. Our kids were entertained the whole time and were so sad to leave. The staff was amazing, the rooms were beautiful and the drives were absolutely unbelievable. We were so glad we at least booked 2 nights here. One night would not have been nearly enough. 2 was just enough, but 3 would have been even better!! I would not change a thing about our experience. We were well fed, well hydrated and well entertained. Thank you Sanbona. Our family will never forget our amazing time spent at Sanbona!!!!

“Safari weekend of a lifetime!”

I organised a trip to Sanbona Game Reserve for 23 people for 2 nights in March 2017 as a very special corporate break. It far exceeded our expectations on every level. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed and settled into both Gondwana Lodge and Tilney Manor. The accommodation was luxurious and had everything you could wish for, including the stunning view of the reserve with wild animals roaming free to see. The nightlight was without a doubt the Game Drives both at sunrise and sunset each day. The rangers are first class and made the trip so interesting and engaging throughout. They are a real credit to the reserve, special thanks to Josh for the amazing Cheetah find on foot – unforgettable! The food and drinks to return to were fantastic, such a great choice and very well cooked. We also enjoyed massage at the spa and felt rejuvenate after a dip in the outdoor pool in the afternoon. It’s an ideal Safari experience to bolt on to a trip to Cape Town as it’s only two and a half hours drive from there and 2 – 3 nights is spot on. I highly recommend to all, especially first-time Safari goers as it’s such a high quality and safe trip.

“Fantastic three days of our lives”

Marthsu and Johan made us very welcome and run a friendly but efficient safari experience. We stayed in October and while the place was supposed to be full it was very relaxed. The rooms, food and pool (unheated) were all excellent, but the reason to be there is to see animals and we saw on 6 jeep rides more than enough. The ranger knew her stuff and showed her drivers were genuine care for ecology, not just the business side. Would recommend to anyone who wants a safari experience without heading for one of the remote huge game reserves up north. Thanks for the stay.

“The jewel in the crown”

My wife and I have just returned from a two-week tour of South Africa. It was our first visit and filled with wonderful experiences, fantastic hospitality and impressive accommodation. However…….. Gondwana Lodge on the Sanbona Game Reserve took things to an entirely new level. I am reluctant to write much more as I would find it difficult to express how incredible our experience was here. It truly is a very special and unique environment – an experience of fun and adventure with the additional bonus of 5-star hospitality and being made to feel very special indeed by our hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and a special thanks to Johann for driving us back to the welcome centre to our car for our early departure. You are all absolute stars and we will be back.
