    “First Class in every respect”

I’m sure there are many luxurious lodges in the Park. Certainly, this ranks among the best. To me, the people running and working in the lodge make or break the stay. Their people are simply the best. The facility is comfortable and the food is great, marched, of course, with great service. The safari drives were spectacular. We managed to see the big five. What I didn’t count on is how very close we got for pictures. Got some great shots.

“Ivory Lodge at Lions Sands exceeded every expectation!”

Our stay at Ivory Lodge was a highpoint of our South African vacation. Our safari/game drives were exceptional due to the knowledge, professionalism and dedication of experienced guide and tracker. The lodge staff was courteous, accommodating, friendly and attuned to our every request. Safety was foremost on their mind, and the thoughtfully designed accommodations provided elegance, privacy and comfort. From a bite sized pre-game drive morning snack and smoothie, through full breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, sundowners and fabulous dinners, we were never wanting for delicious food. A private viewing deck from our personal lodge overlooked the river and Kruger National Park on the far bank, and wildlife was often visible both up close and far off. I can’t imagine any detail that would have made this experience more enjoyable or perfect.

    “Fabulous accommodations”

Each private lodge has a view of the river separating Lion Sands Private Game Reserve from Kruger NP, and was luxuriously outfitted with a viewing deck and plunge pool, bedroom overlooking the deck and African bush beyond, a tub and both an indoor and outdoor shower, and a comfortable and homey living room. Adjacent lodges are far enough away to give you a true sense of privacy and wildness, and wildlife or their sign is all about you. The staff was genuine, knowledgeable and helpful, food was amazing, and the overall experience was wonderful. Loved this place!

    “Exceptional experience in Sabi Sand”

Lion Sands Ivory Lodge more than met our expectations of an exceptional lodge and safari experience. The accommodations were 5 star with gorgeous and spacious villas and beautiful common spaces. Air conditioning was a welcome feature in the villas. The Guides and Trackers were experienced and able to find animals in remote places. The food was varied and delicious and served with wonderful South African wines. We also had access to choose our own wines from their wine cellar. The lodge was frequented by animals everyday and it wasn’t unusual to wake up to see elephants, kudus and others roaming the property.
