These one-night adventures are booked in conjunction with your accommodation, packing an overnight bag while leaving your other belongings back in your suite at camp.
The new and elegantly modern Thabametsi Treehouse is located at the Marataba Safari Lodge within the Marakele National Park. This privately owned game park is an expanse of 23000 hectares of natural reserve based at the foothills of the Waterberg Mountains.
Knowing that there is more to an extraordinary African Safari than just remarkable gaming viewing, the lodge has prioritized giving couples and families alike the experience of being fully immersed in the wild, at no expense to luxurious comforts. Up in the tree-tops Thabametsi boasts a 6 metre long Martini Step deck with infinite views of wild plains. With complete privacy away from the main lodge, this extravagant two-level house in the trees is almost make-believe.
Being a malaria risk-free area, this treehouse is also a perfect location to bring the kids along (between age 10 -14 years) as they are fully catered for on single pull-out beds.

From flat plains to mountains and rock water pools, Marakele Private Game Reserve has an incredible diversity of landscapes to explore. Walks and hikes are varied from gorge trails into the Waterberg Mountain valleys which are only accessible by foot to riverside trails passing watering holes, which attract a large variety of game including hippo.
Interest trails run past Iron Age ruins and cave paintings. Both the longer mountain hikes as well as trail walks are all accompanied by expert guides with many years of experience leading hiking trails within Big 5 territories.
Another way to explore the magnificence of the African bush other than a 4-wheel drive, is to take a water safari. Sunrise and sunset cruises are an incredible way to celebrate honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays or even a romantic proposal. Views from the water give a new dimension to your luxury African safari with opportunities to see hippo, elephant, white rhino, leopard, waterbuck, warthogs, pythons, zebras and black back jackals to name but a few. The water edge is also the perfect place to spot some of the areas colourful birdlife. Expect to see a variety of kingfishers, storks, Egyptian geese and the intriguing African fish eagle.
After so much adventure, the main resort offers a quiet poolside for relaxation with qualified massage therapists at your peril for indulgent spa treatments.
The kids have a great menu of activities available exclusively to them including Bug CSI, dung tracking, evening games, stargazing and a track pack with plaster of paris.
