    “Fantastic stay!!”

We were a group of 12 people so pretty much had the lodge to ourselves. The staff under the management of Atasha was top notch. We enjoyed excellent food and saw all the big five and more. Our ranger Willie and tracker John showed us some amazing sights. Our first drive was Exciting as we saw a mother Cheetah with her cubs and a ferocious fight between a lion and lionesses. We were at a site where the Lionesses and cubs were feasting on their freshly killed Giraffe. Once our ranger heard that the Lion was on the way, we waited and experienced the roars and the ferocious fight between the Lion and Lioness trying to protect her cubs.
Every drive after this was momentous as our experienced ranger and tracker team showed us sights good enough for National Geographic. We saw a pack of wild dogs with their kill and vultures trying to get it from them. A giraffe who had just delivered a baby.
Our thanks to Willie and John and the entire staff of Jackalberry for an unforgettable experience.

“A return trip, just as great as we remembered!”

This was the site of our first African safari trip and it has always stood out in our minds so we decided to stay here on our most recent trip. It was just as nice as we remembered! We only had 2 nights here but they were worth the stop. Saw the big five and a stunning leopard in a tree. The guides and trackers were excellent, love the accomodations and the setting for meals is lovely. the food was excellent and the dinner around the fire was memorable. We would recommend this to anyone who wanted to try a safari. 2 game experiences each day make for an exciting visit.

    “Africa at its best”

Picture a place with terrific guides, world-class wildlife, friendly staff, great food, and truly outstanding rooms – Jackalberry Lodge is it. It is extremely rare to find all of this in one place, but here it is. I would recommend it without hesitation. Memories of our time here will stay with us forever. My only suggestion would be to provide more opportunities for exercise – the lodge grounds are small, affording little space to walk, and for obvious reasons, one does not get any exercise on the game drives. Still, we absolutely loved our time at Jackalberry.

    “Amazing”

We couldn’t have asked to stay in a more perfect place. The lodge is very nice and has excellent customer service. There is a watering hole nearby where the animals come to drink. If possible, stay in room 6 or 7. The deck is on the “wild-side” of the BOMA and buffalo, warthogs, zebras and even a rhino will stop by to say hello. The room is clean and large. The service was excellent. The game drives were beyond and the Rangers/Trackers were very knowledgeable!
