“Highlight!”

Tshukudu is located inside the Pilanesberg National Park, close to Jo’berg. Because of the elevation, it is malaria free. It is truly an amazing experience. We saw the big five in one day. There was a warm welcome when we arrived. A number of people at the lodge are small – great isn’t it? Dinner is for all the same time at a long table. Food is ok, except the oxtail, which was great. Staff is highly motivated, paying attention to detail and friendly. So are the rangers, who had a big contribution to the amazing game drives. We have been to lodges before, but this truly a special one. The stairs have been mentioned. They are breathtaking, but it is worth the effort. ;-))
A highlight of our SA trip!

“tripzzzz”

We stayed on a family vacation. The lodge is perched on a hilltop within the Pilanesberg Game Reserve. Beautiful casita type rooms are luxurious. The lodge overlooks a vast plain and watering hole so you can observe animals while relaxing. The game drives are well organized and the guides very friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to find the animals you want to try and see. Ally, our guide went the extra mile and we managed to get a fantastic close up of the elusive leopard. You need to be able to hike up to the lodge from the parking area, about 130 steps. If you have problems with mobility you need to factor this in. This place is amazing!!!

“The perfect safari experience”

One of the few lodges in the park and by far the smallest one. I was staying there with only 7 other guests (great company!) and it was bliss. The chalets are perfectly situated, all have wonderful views. The game drives are perfectly organised and respectful of the wildlife. A guide was knowledgeable and passionate. Food and drinks are excellent, the dinner is really something to look forward to. Cocktails are served around a fire pit, meals are served in the main lodge at a large table. Staff was helpful, friendly and genuinely cared about making a stay memorable. I stayed for 3 days and could definitely have added 1 or 2 more. Don’t be afraid of skipping an evening game drive. Sit on the deck of the main lodge, enjoy a cocktail and watch the show of the animals messing about around the waterhole.

“An amazing five star safari experience”

I stayed at Tshukudu for two nights and it was such an amazing experience! It’s a very small lodge with a maximum capacity of 20 people, so the game drives were with a very small number of people since it was split between three vehicles. The meals and even the mini-bar were all-inclusive, so you didn’t have to worry about a thing. The food was great, and it was very festive sitting in the dining room with everyone there. The staff and the game rangers were all great as well. You’ll be in good hands with any of them. I saw SO many animals and many of them up close. The highlight was a lioness and her FOUR cubs on the final morning game drive. The rooms are very well-appointed while still capturing the “bush” feel. You should never hesitate to book this place for your safari.
