    “Family holiday”

We are a family of 4, with 2 daughters age 14 & 11. My mom also joined us which made for a fabulous time together. We booked 3 suites which we found beautifully appointed, spacious and each one having it’s own sitting/lounge area. It felt like home.
The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. There was always someone around if we needed anything. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
The game reserve itself covers a breath-taking beautiful area of the Eastern Cape. Having previously been to 2 other game reserves within the same vicinity, Amakhala delivers on every level when it comes to the game.
If you are looking for true Eastern Cape hospitality, great food with fantastic game viewing then Leeuwenbosch ticks all the boxes. It was excellent value for money.

    “Family”

Excellent service throughout. The family is ever present and steeped in the history of the farm/reserve. It is a very personal experience with most of the staff having lived on or near the property for their whole lives and their love for and knowledge of the property shines through. Our ranger was exceptional. For our visiting Australian family it was an unforgettable experience.

    “2 amazing days!”

So glad we did this, we cannot describe what a wonderful time we had on the safaris. Great photographic opportunities, and the whole experience was enhanced by our guide for the two days, Asher. The lodge itself is quaint and very peaceful. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, staff great, and all the alcohol one could drink. A tip, do not try and drink Bill, the owner, under the table!

    “An amazing stay”

Just back from South Africa, stayed 2 nights here, met up with the lovely Bill, whom entertained us with his interesting stories about the Game Reserve. I holidayed by myself and was made to feel very welcome on my arrival, was given a tour of the house and the grounds, i stayed in the main house and my bedroom was lovely. On arrival we had afternoon tea, then at 4 pm the first game drive, our Ranger had so much knowledge and was more than happy to stop for photos, the views and the animals were amazing. The food was exceptionally good. I would highly recommend this Country House – could have done with an extra night.
