Kruger National Park

“Great experience”

We were there for four nights two in the Tented Complex and then two in the Safari Lodge. Both very different but very enjoyable. The tent was wonderful with a very comfy bed, great game drives with a super team of Kyle and Mr X, lots of lovely stories when we not spotting game. After two days we moved up to the safari lodge to be greeted by the truly wonderful happy Promise who could not do enough (as all the staff did) to make our stay special. The Lodge was perfect and several times we had Nyala outside our front door, it was a real pleasure to be that close. We were also very lucky to have the herd of elephants come right to the front of the lodge and drink from the waterhole, not too sure the fish appreciated it! Would I recommend it YES YES YES.

“Back to nature”

We stayed at Thanda tented camp for 3 nights in early August. It completely surpassed our expectations for amenities, service and food. The tents are luxurious, with indoor ensuite facilities and very comfortable beds – we stayed in #1 & 2, close to the main areas, but still quiet enough to wake up to a nyala grazing amongst the bushes outside! Our game drives were led by Arlw (guide) and Beki (tracker), who were excellent – we spotted 4 of the Big 5. Arlw was particularly knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the 14,000-hectare reserve, keeping us totally fascinated during our drives. Would recommend enjoying a spa treatment if you have time – my head massage was AMAZING.

“Awesome!”

From the minute we booked we were met with professionalism and helpful advice. Thank you to Lara Soldat for organising fantastic accommodation and arranging our unforgettable time with Christian Sperka and Bheki. Christian brought photography to life and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience on the “Green Mamba”, an ingeniously modified game vehicle – a photographer’s dream. When we weren’t in our element taking photos with Christian, we had the privilege of being taken on game drives by Buselaphi and Winneth. Each drive was full of fantastic game viewing, but what made it memorable was the knowledge, fun and humour shared by our ranger and tracker. Each person we interacted with made us feel welcome and at home. The food was delicious and the entire experience will be relived whenever we look through our photos. Thank you to everyone at Thanda for making every moment with you special.

“Memorable and Truly Superb”

The highlight of our two weeks in South Africa. OMG, what a place and what an experience. Just wonderful, from the start to the finish and only wished we could have stayed longer, but loved it. The staff were so attentive and nothing was trouble and the warmth and smiles from all just added to the feeling you were somewhere special.
So from arriving and feeling wowed by the tented camp and all that went with that, the professionalism shown by Tembe, our personal safari guide was just second to none.
He went out of his way to make sure that we saw all we wanted, but so close up as well, and cannot believe I will ever experience anything as good as this.
It was fantastic……
