“5* Location, Facilities and Service”

Ukhozi lodge could not be faulted. The room was luxurious with all mod cons and within a couple of minutes walk from the main lodge where all meals were served. The ‘selected beverages’ consisted of wine and spirits as well as tea and coffee. The safari vehicle was excellent and we had our own Ranger who met us on our arrival, showed us to our room and had meals with us, as well as taking us on each safari. Each room has a splash pool and there is a pool at the main lodge. Food was excellent and plentiful. They had thought of everything to make the experience one to remember.

“Top choice”

If you are looking for a personal game drive experience with stunning scenery then this is your place. We visited towards the middle of May which apparently is towards the off season but the weather was great and the drive times kinder than they could have been if the sunrise was earlier! Rosie, our guide was fantastic, plenty of knowledge but very laid back and made sure there was something for everybody in each of her drives. The Ukhozi lodge itself was a brilliant choice and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. Pretty certain that none of them stopped smiling for the whole time we were there. Highly recommended.

“Everything except the leopard!”

We would recommend Kariega to anyone, we spent four days there and had an amazing time. The accommodation and food were wonderful and our superb guide Rosie took us on two drives each day which were perfect. Rosie is endlessly knowledgeable and patient, and tracked down for us all the big five except the leopard, and countless other animals and birds. Th whole “flavour” of Kariega is to observe nature but not interfere or damage, very ethical and responsible.

“Stunning place.”

Spent 3 nights at Ukhozi lodge and WOW. Rooms were nice and big, and had own plunge pool. Amazing view from rooms. Take a pair on Binoc’s with you.
Food was amazing, service was amazing and our game driver made sure we got to see as much as we could.
Sad to say no Cheetahs on Kariega, but that did not dampen the spirits. Got to see the Lions heaps (mating season) along with all the other wild life.
Was not too far from main lodge, so could walk over and have drinks at the bar they have. Could sit on the deck all day and look over the amazing view. Spotted heaps from there and Ukhozi lodge.
