Nedile Lodge offers guests a truly African holiday experience, far from the stress and turmoil of daily life. Nedile Lodge is only three hours north of Pretoria, and the Welgevonden Reserve is a declared Heritage Site of 36000 hectares (more than 80000 acres).
Additionally, guests will be treated to sightings of giraffe, zebra, eland, wildebeest and many other antelope varieties. Nedile is also the ideal place for nature lovers, and one may even get the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the aardvark, brown hyena or the rarely spotted honey badger. We had a group of guests, who would pull out their instruments every evening after dinner, much to the entertainment of our staff!

Activities
At Nedile there are a variety of activities on offer for all to enjoy. Game viewing in open vehicles as well as guided walks, afford guests the opportunity to get up-close and personal with some of Africa’s untamed and most majestic creatures, as well as the magnificent plant life which abounds in this region of the country. The reserve is well stocked with lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, rhino, elephant, zebra, giraffe and many other mammals, birds and trees.
Both our game drives through the untamed African wilderness and guided walks are conducted by experienced game rangers and are guaranteed to provide travelers with a new and unique view of nature and its splendor, whilst traversing undulating hills, following river courses and exploring open grass plains. After enjoying one of the spectacular game viewing activities, guests are invited to cool down in the refreshing rock swimming pool, overlooking the valley below.
Who says the day’s activities have to end when the sun goes down? Come and join us on the deck with only the flickering light of lanterns and the stars for company. Learn about the different constellations; from Orion and Taurus in the summer to Scorpio in the winter, with the Southern Cross to guide us. Understand more about the ocean of twinkling lights in the heavens above, including stories about the stars from the African perspective.
