“10 Star Game Reserve and Lodge”

I spent 4 days and 3 nights at Nungubane Reserve. This was my second visit. It is more than worth the 21 hours of flight time to South Africa from Los Angeles. I’m not sure what I enjoy the most; the animals, the lodge, my chalet, the food, the quiet by the hide, or the marvellous guides, chefs, and host. A lion with his wildebeest dinner, rhinos with their babies, elephants pulling down trees, giraffes in a stately “parade”, beautiful birds, monkeys swinging free…
Nungubane is a delight from the moment you arrive until the sad time when you leave. It’s just grand and I can’t wait to come again.

“Great sightings”

We had a fantastic time at Nungubane. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent! And very tasty. We were very fortunate and got to see the Big 5! The highlights being the lion, leopard and elephant sightings! The lodge and chalets are top class and very comfortable. Each chalet has its own deck looking out into the bush. We liked the fireplaces! The lodge has a swimming pool for summer relaxation. Nungubane is great value for money. Welgevonden is a hidden gem that must be explored!

“Incredible Luxury Safari Lodge”

Too many highlights to list all of them but truly a magical place with fantastic staff to make you feel in pure bliss including fantastic rooms and main lodge (and the best pool as we had great weather) as well as gourmet dining every meal! The staff are wonderful and the games drives were out of this world led by Jonathan with his knowledge and experience we covered some good ground with unbelievable sightings. Did I mention the food?! Nothing better than a morning coffee on a game drive with some homemade banana bread πŸ™‚ Thanks, team Nungubane and guests.. an experience never to be forgotten.

“Excellent Game drives and very good service”

We stayed at Nungumbane Lodge for 3 nights and had a wonderful time there. Food was great and we especially enjoyed our game drives with Josphat and his stories and facts about the animals we saw. It was amazing to see a cheetah being chased by baboons and we were glad Josphat turned out to be an elephant whisperer when two young male elephants expressed too much interest in the car we were in. I still vividly remember Josphat instructing the elephant “No boy! no!” and yes…the elephant listened. Staff was very friendly and catered to the pregnancy dietary requests. Oh yes and an excellent place to do a wedding proposal. Thanks to the staff who set up the evening meal on our private deck and decorated our bedroom and bathroom in a manner well suited to the romantic occasion. Thank you, my friends!
