    Activities

The game viewing experience in Timbavati is one of the best in South Africa. The reserve is home to the ‘Big 5’ (lion, leopard, cape buffalo, rhinoceros and elephant).

Timbavati is home to the highest density of lion in the country. The reserve is also frequently traversed by large herds of elephant and buffalo.

The guides and trackers at the lodge are all qualified by and registered with the Field Guides Association of South Africa. As such, they will bring the bush to live with their great interpretation of the sounds, sights, and behaviors that you encounter.

    “Gaming viewing deluxe”

Rooms were very clean and comfortable with WiFi, tea and coffee station, mini bar plenty USB plugs. Bathrooms had indoor and outdoor showers with top of the range amenities. The game drives were excellent and the guides very knowledgeable. All meals were superb, but what struck me most was the staff attention to the comfort of guests. The first Lodge ever visited where all the staff were smiling and went out of their way to assist with any request. Compliments to the Lodge Manager Elsabe

    “Absolutely outstanding service”

Talk about a trip of a lifetime. I took my dad to South Africa in September and we were fortunate to spend his birthday at Simbavati River Lodge. Our indivdiual accommodations were outstanding. The staff were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and sweet. We truly felt like royalty. The game drives were equally excellent and each day brought something fresh, new and unexpected. While the overall trip was enjoyable, it was made extremely special by Gladys, Mbong, Caswell and Vusi. Gladys especially went above and beyond by organizing a surprise birthday cake. We spent a fantastic four-day trip here and both my dad and I plan to definitely go back — this time separately. 🙂

    “A brilliant experience”

Did an all inclusive here and just loved it. The upkeep and room cleaning, preparation, etc all happened while the guests are on safari. Then you get back and its all fresh for you to relax and enjoy Africa. The Butler is there for your food and drink, the spotter to escort you to and from your double-tented accommodation. Loved it!

“First family trip to South Africa”

Where do I start? We took our 2 daughters (12 & 15) to Simbavati for 3 nights and had the experience of a lifetime. The setting was stunning, accommodation luxurious, food fantastic & staff brilliant (thank you Obi). Our guide and tracker (Kruger & Hemet) made sure we saw everything- Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, giraffe, zebras. A real adrenalin rush, going through the Bush for sight of one of these magnificent animals.
