Overview

Londolozi, meaning "Protector of all living things", is one of South Africa's original private game reserves. Situated on the banks of the Sand River within the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, it shares unfenced borders with the famous Kruger National Park and is a prime destination for Big 5 wildlife viewing. Visitors can see Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, as well as cheetah which can be found in this region. Londolozi Game Reserve is privately owned for the past 90 years by the Varty family and offers the visitors unique game drive experience.

The weather during summer seasons can increase to uncomfortable levels. The rainy season can hinder activities, and due to thick vegetation, game viewing can be difficult. During the winter-dry season, the vegetation shrinks, making it easier to spot animals.

Getting There

Londolozi Game Reserve is part of the Greater Sabi Sand Game Reserve and there are various flights to the National Park.

Getting to Londolozi Game Reserve by air

People flying from international destinations can choose from one of the many flights to the region throughout the year.

Schedule Flights:
Federal Air operates a daily flight from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport to Londolozi Airstrip, which is a five-minute drive from the camp. There are scheduled flights from Durban and Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). Londolozi provides a 2.5 hour road transfer from KMIA to Londolozi on request.

 

Getting to Londolozi Game Reserve by road

From Johannesburg to Londolozi (500km / 311 miles):
Take the N12 / N4 from Johannesburg to Nelspruit. Then the R40 from Nelspruit to Hazyview. Followed by the R536 from Hazyview towards Paul Kruger Gate.

After 37.km / 23 miles, turn left onto a gravel road (sign-posted Sabi Sand Wildtuin 1km). Enter the Sabi Sand Reserve and follow Londolozi signs to camp (approximately 17km / 11 miles).
