    “Wonderful 4 night stay”

The highlight of a 3 week trip to SA. Within the first 3 game drives we had seen the Big 5 and then it got better with cheetah and 4 cubs and a small pack of wild dogs. This is not really camping as I used to know it, “tent” had air con, ensuite bathroom/toilet and a bath on the verandah if needed. Food is tremendous and so much of it. Evet night was different and on my birthday the staff presented me with an enormous chocolate cake. Would happily stay again and Simon was a great guide, going off road in pursuit of animals. Certainly worth a stay here.

    “Amazing property, amazing game viewing!”

We stayed here for three nights and loved every single minute of our time here. With only 8 tents (16 guests maximum), you get to know everyone – staff and guests. The hospitality was amazing with everyone greeting you by name throughout the stay. The food was delicious and plentiful and the “tents” were spacious and luxurious but maintained that natural “in the wild” feel. The game viewing is amazing – even when you are in camp! One afternoon 30-40 elephants walked right by our back porch and the warthogs and nyala’s were daily visitors. However, the highlight in the COMPLETELY AMAZING game drives every morning and evening. The drivers and trackers (Kilmon and Aubry were our guys) are incredible and pulled us all into the adventure. We saw the big five numerous times during our stay. Thank you to everyone at Chapungu for making this an absolutely fabulous adventure!

    “Fantastic game drives”

We had such an amazing time here. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the accommodation was perfect, especially the bath on the verandah! The highlight was undoubtedly the game drives with Eric and Oscar. What a treat to have such knowledgeable, professional and skilful guides. We saw it all with them – the big 5 on our first day and we were even chased by an elephant!! (expertly driven away by Eric). Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to track down as many animals as possible, getting incredibly close to them. Our 3 children (young adults) loved the whole experience as much as us. Thank you all for a truly memorable holiday – especially Eric and Oscar.

    “Wonderful Safari Home”

We had a restful, memorable stay in early April at Chapungu. The lodge is very well-kept, the staff attentive and dinners each evening were varied and delicious. The twice-daily game drives led by our expert guide, Kilmon, were always breath-taking and filled with the Big Five and more. I would have enjoyed leaving the vehicle and walking the bush a bit more, but I think the Thornybush collective that runs Chapungu charges extra for that experience. This was my second time on safari and it proved to be a luxurious version of these wonderful holidays. I would highly recommend this lovely, homey lodge for adults (small children not allowed) who want to see lots of game and spend their days in comfort.
