Wildlife
Guests can hope to see the Big 5, as well as a number of endangered wildlife. Keep an eye out for the African wild dog, the Southern ground hornbill, the white-backed vulture and even the white lion. Guided walking safaris are the reserve’s specialty, but the more traditional off-road and nighttime tours are also on offer.

The main habitats in the parks are grassy plains and mixed woodland. In the rainy season, the vegetation tends to be quite thick but this doesn't interfere much with the wildlife viewing because of the off-road driving permits. The Wet season occurs during the summer months (October to April), while the mild Dry season occurs during the winter (May to September). The summer is hot and humid. Winter is dry and mild, with it cooling off substantially during the night. Warm clothing is essential for early morning and evening game drives. Getting There
Getting to Klaserie by air
Those intending to visit Klaserie from abroad fly into the O.R. Tambo International Airport (JNB) at Johannesburg. A connecting flight to Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit is the next step in getting there. The reserve is about 16km/10mi from the airport, which makes a transfer to the reserve very easy.
Getting to Klaserie by road
Renting a car in Johannesburg and driving to Klaserie is another option. The park can be found on the R40 near Hoedspruit, and west of Kruger National Park. The 480km/300mi drive takes nearly five hours.
