    “Amazing Time!”

A friend and I took a bucket list trip to Africa two weeks ago and spent 3 nights at the Waterside Lodge. Our entire trip exceeded our expectations and the time spent at the lodge was fantastic. Our safari guide, Jaluka and tracker, John were top notch and we saw more animals than I ever thought possible. Our accommodations were lovely and the food was delicious. One day we went to the Spa and were late for lunch, but the staff prepared a special meal for us – our own little mini buffet – they really went above and beyond. The setting is so tranquil; one day we watched a herd of elephants play in the water for hours – magical.

“Unbelievable - Face to face with lions”

The place is truly wonderful. The staff is outstanding! Our driver, Juluka, was top notch. So was our tracker – John! Every drive they found us amazing things to see. We saw all of the big five in our first drive out. Then every other drive they found us unbelievable sights. At one point we were surrounded by 8 lions! At another point, a lion walked right up to our vehicle and stared at us. Our butler, Jimmy, was the kindest and best person around! The room was awesome. The pool was amazing – though i wish they had a hot tub for chilly days. The only thing i wish this amazing resort did differently relates to turning away big group tours. The first two nights of our stay were amazing. The place was full of young couples who all were friendly and wanted to share stories about their safaris. On the last two nights of our stay, the place opened the doors to 2 large groups (14 people each for a total of 28 people) who were all from the same European country. The groups stuck to themselves and spoke their own languages and kind of obliterated the chatty / friendly vibe that had previously existed. However, that aside, the place, the facilities, the staff, and the quantity of game to see is truly outstanding!

    “Simply the Best”

We stayed for three nights at Thornybush as part of a much longer Safari tour of Southern Africa. This place was the very best of the several lodges we visited. Everything worked like a clock. The rooms were excellent, the food was plentiful and extremely well prepared and presented, and the service was exemplary.

The best of all were the game drives and bush walks. Our Guide, Liam, was knowledgeable patient and persistent and introduced us to more animals that we imagined possible, including, of course, the big 5.

Everything was so well organised from thee moment of arrival until we left. This place is simply the best.

    “Memories to last a lifetime”

We stayed two nights and we loved every moment of it. We went for 4 game drives and we left us wanting more. From the rooms to the service it is a great lodge to be at. Our butler Rich and our ranger Mozez were very kind. Mozez had a lot of knowledge about the game and spotting. We saw all the big 5 and leopard cubs. Everything here is extremely personalized and intimate.Dinner settings are done beautifully in the open. Upon checking out I left my passport in the safe. The lodge was very prompt and supportive in helping me get it back. 2 nights is not enough! We wanted to extend our stay but they were sold out. A must must stay for all.
